Summary: Jaejoong is set on capturing the heart of Eri. Except in order to do that, he has to win against the charming Jung Yunho who is also actively pursuing her. Now hoping to get an edge over his rival, Jaejoong sabotages the man’s every attempt to woo the girl he likes. But just when he thought everything was going according to plan, an accident happens that somehow, by twist of fate, directs Yunho’s charm and unbidden attention towards him.
PROLOGUE
This was the fourth time Jaejoong and his mother had relocated but it never got easier to adjust and make new friends. Being a new kid in school isn’t much of a walk in the park either, so when he met this wonderful girl who was nice enough to show him around, he was charmed.
Kim Jaejoong had set his eyes on this cute Japanese girl named Eri. But a little problem got in the way which made the first few months in this town much more complicated.
His wide brown eyes turned into slits when he saw her walking down the stairs next to a much taller guy. Jung Yunho. He wasn’t anything extraordinary as far as Jaejoong could see, but he was intelligent and easy to the eyes that it was no surprise he’d captured a number of hearts; Jaejoong feared Eri was one of them.
As he obviously couldn’t let it go any further, he’d silently declared Yunho as his biggest rival of her love and attention. His eyes narrowed even more at the man, then suddenly a mischievous thought came to him. Just when Yunho was reaching the bottom of the stairs, Jaejoong snapped his fingers and right on cue, the man slipped... landing painfully on his butt.
Born half-nymphean, Jaejoong inherited his mother’s magical ability which he was constantly told not to abuse and use for personal gain. Growing up, he’d always been a good listener, but this one rule he couldn’t resist not to defy when mortals, mostly this one person in particular, was such an easy target.
Jaejoong giggled loud enough for Yunho to hear. A sharp glare was sent his way which in that moment he felt was time for retreat. Feeling quite accomplished, he abruptly turned on his heels without really looking ahead that he bumped into another classmate holding a strawberry slushy. Needless to say, his face and uniform was completely drenched, calling everyone's attention on him including of the pair he was previously observing.
That was why he wasn't a big fan of karma, especially when he could hear Yunho laughing back at him as he hurriedly fled the scene in shame.

A/N: Hello again. :) It’s been a while! So I’ve had this plot saved for a long time now, but I couldn’t decide which story to write first that’s why it took me this long.
I’m too preoccupied toying between this and a few other interesting plots so instead of getting something done, I always find myself in an endless cycle of abandoning a story when I get stuck, and then jumping on another. It goes like that until I just give up, and lose the urge to write altogether. :-/ Tell me I’m not the only one who does that? I can’t promise to update regularly, but I’ll try my best to finish it. I’ll keep this short, maybe 5 chapters or less? (if I can fit it all in just a couple of pages, then yeah).
Anyway, to my old readers, I can’t thank you guys enough for the love you’ve given Let’s Play Pretend. I appreciate it very much. Although I may not be as active in the fandom as I used to be anymore, one thing is for sure, YunJae will always be special to me. :)
