collagenized wicked witch of the west!
so i got a job. i was excited, but didn't want to get my hopes up because the lady was a huge bitch in my interview. she had HUGE collagenized lips and fake boobs that were basically all up in my face. she asked me extremely personal questions that are illegal to ask. She asked things such as "how old are you?", "do you have a boyfriend?", "do you party a lot?", "it seems as though you've had a lot of jobs, that worries me. i don't want someone like you to come in and then just leave if you get bored." at this point i pointed out to her that 3 of my jobs on my resume were overlapping and at the same time.
the way she spoke to me, i didn't think i had a shot in hell. so when i got the call that i had training on monday, i was surprised.
the pay was $7/hour and i found out that i would basically be running this salon. i had to know the details of each stylist, what they ate, how often they shat, etc etc. i have such a hard time justifying being a slave for that kind of pay. i was angry the first day when i was told my responsibilities and they weren't disclosed when i asked about the job during the interview.
yesterday, i was at work. one of the "managers" came up to me, in a rude, non-managerial way and said "jackie, you do know that you're supposed to be wearing makeup every day?" when i responded, "yes, and i am wearing make up" to which she accosted, "no you are not!" and i replied, "i wear bare minerals which means my make up looks more natural than what you may be used to." they then told me that i would HAVE to wear heavy makeup if i wanted to continue there. they also told me that collagenized lips had mentioned it and that's why they commented on it.
by that time, i had already decided that this wasn't the job for me. i was extremely disappointed the way they treat their employees. the high expectations. all the stylists told me how sorry they felt for me, that i was brave for taking the job...on the first day.
needless to say. i quit. 2.5 days into the job. i went on lunch, and didn't call back. they haven't contacted me after i called to let them know i could no longer continue employment there.
there is another job i may be able to get my hands on. it's a test proctor that pays upwards of 9/hour. which isn't bad for part time and what seems to be really easy.
