The only reason I ever started organizing my stuff was that I was sick of feeling that sweaty, sweaty panic upon missing something vitally important.

One morning and one massively sweaty panic session later, I've found half of what I was looking for. On one hand, I am delighted to know that I still have the ornaments I was missing - in particular, the little alphabet-block BABY ornament that I purchased when I was pregnant. On the other hand, the tree skirt is still missing, which means that there is another box out there.

Organizer's Tip: Never store your valuables next to the pile of things to throw away. Even if you are extra scrupulous about checking things before you toss them, there will always always be that nagging sensation in the back of your mind that everything you ever loved is in the city dump. (This is why I sympathize with the people on Hoarders when the professionals are urging them to dump stuff all willy-nilly. I wouldn't want to do that, and I'm not even a hoarder!)

However, the search went massively quickly today, mostly because I've been extremely careful to sort boxes and clearly label them as I went along the organizing trail. Not having to dig through 10+ boxes because you already know what's in them is definitely a time-saver. (Having to re-stack them because of an impromptu avalanche is less of a time-saver, but at least nothing was broken.)

Let's see...oh! Health-wise, I'm doing pretty awesomely. I can sleep for eight hours and not take a nap the next day, which is something that hasn't happened in a loooooong time. I feel energetic, and in fact I'm sometimes downright perky. Chest pains are all but gone, even without the Advil. Hurrah!

And now I'm off to pretend to be a socially adept adult and try out for a play. Wish me luck and broken legs!
