Went to bed last night with the makings of a migraine. When it wore off around three I woke up and really had to pee. Then went back to bed.
As a result I was wiped this morning and stayed in bed til almost 10.
Urinals are stupid. Men’s bathrooms are stupid. Somehow Molly and I just got in an debate about them. I’m all for peeing standing up in public places don’t get me wrong, it’s the execution I have a problem with. How come they only get a half divider? Why can’t they have a full stall? It’s also impractical, I get that they are probably cheaper, but a full toilet is multi functional, 1&2. Personally I think all bathrooms should be single stall gender neutral bathrooms, but I’m sure it’d be a hard retro fit to literally millions of bathrooms throughout the country.
Anyway, today at work I focused on cleaning/tidying and prepping spaces for when I leave. Mostly because I was really into my audio book and didn’t want to stop (Attachments by a Rainbow Rowell). It was such a good book, I’ve read it before (I’ve read all her books), but it’s just such a cute and happy and real feeling story. I immediately wanted to listen to something similar afterwards, but didn’t want to search for something just to be disappointed, so instead I waited til after work to start anything new and went with the kids’ fantasy series Endling. It’s by Katherine Applegate, who as it turns out is K. A. Applegate, the writer of Animorphs, a sci-fi series from my own youth.
Justin was driving BBYO kids to a weekend camp/convention thing, so that meant I was running his group today. Yesterday I helped them start making wooden cars and at that time I let them vote on today’s project, but today they pivoted from our plan to do pool noodle carving to making play dough from scratch. We didn’t have the right kind of salt, but the kids managed to play around with the mixture till they got it about right. Mine on the other hand came out as a giant slimy mess, the kids tried to convince me to feed it to Franken-slime but it didn’t seem like a good idea to mix play dough with slime to me. Maybe I’ll pull a chunk from each and see what happens if they breed.
