Back Home

It's now Sunday evening, Pacific time, and I'm home for a little while. I have to go back to Los Angeles tomorrow to resume night work, but I digress.

Friday was a long day as expected. The train trip from Newcastle to the Sydney airport was three hours, the flight to San Francisco was 13 hours, and then I met a former co-worker for lunch and continued to the Sacramento area to visit some friends. I slept better than usual on an eastbound flight, and definitely better than I slept the last time I returned from Australia. I was mostly functional on Friday as a result. That was good, because I had to remember which side of the road to drive on.

The Washington-California football game in Berkeley on Saturday was a train wreck, which surprised no one. Washington lost badly, but at least they weren't shut out. At least it was a relatively warm, sunny day. I flew home Saturday night, and so far I've spent Sunday getting ready for the next trip. At least I'll be home next weekend.
