Nineteen Minutes

This  book continued Picoult's literary success, chronicling the aftermath, and the events that led up to, a school shooting in an ordinary town.

It also followed the same sort of structure as her earlier book, The Pact. It started with a bit before the shooting, talked about immediately after, and then went back to way before the shooting and showed the events that led up to it, switching back to the present as the trial goes on, culminating in a final chapter when the event takes place and the end of the trial is heard.

It also had an excellent plot twist.

Oh, and it had some characters from other books. Jordan McAffe (I think that's how it's spelled?) from The Pact and someone else from a different book (or so I've been told). But, you don't need to read the other books to understand this one.

It was very good, though, and definitely worth the time to read.

Also very sad.
