I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion about the pilot episode.

What did everyone think? Personally, I loved it.

I agree - humor's definitely a necessity. (I'm a big humor fan. Not necessarily comedy, though that has its place too, but I think humor's a great thing in its many forms.)

*Thinks about it for a moment* I think Tom may be my favorite character too. I had the chance to see Christian Borle in Spamalot a few years back and he was amazing, so this is a lot of fun. And, yes, Derek is very much the character we'd love to hate. And I have to give Jack Davenport credit because I've seen him in a number of other things and I enjoy him a lot as an actor, so I was predisposed to like Derek to an extent, but most of the time I kept yelling at the screen, "Stop being such a dick!"

*Nods* I know it's not going to happen, but part of me wants both Ivy and Karen to get the part. So it should be interesting to see how things will work out.

I got interested in the show because Katharine McPhee and Raza Jeffrey (loved him in Spooks) were in it.

The pilot held my attention right from the beginning to end with so much potential for character and story line development.

It had a great finish with that original song.

I really only knew Katharine McPhee from American Idol, and didn't even know Raza Jeffrey, but I do love the two of them together. The scene in the restuarant with her parents was really sweet on his part, IMO.

I agree - there's a lot of potential in it and I can't wait to see how they handle it.

I think that's one of the things I love about the show - most of the music is going to be original.
