Who: Parakarry and YOU What: Parakarry takes/gives you your mail. Where: Paretta's Parcel Pick-Up When: 12/1 to 12/22 Warnings: Letter bombs, anthrax and mail-ordered porn mags Nothing right now...
Watt hadn’t seen Parakarry in a while, which was to be expected for this time of month. She could only imagine how much work he had to get done for the holiday season! She knew that he had a lot to do, but she still missed hanging out with him.
However, now she had a legitimate reason to see him! Not only did she have quite a few Christmas cards to send out, but she had also made a breakthrough in her attempts to turn into a human the traditional way! She had to show that off!
So, the lil’ sparky bursted into the shop in excitement, trying not to drop her little purse she had balancing on her head. “Parkarry, Parakarry!” she cried out happily, “I gotta show you something!”
Parakarry was hunched over the counter, fidgeting a bit with his eyes shut tightly. He snored every few seconds causing the trail of drool hanging over his bottom lip to vibrate.
"No, Bow, no." he groaned in dismay. "Can't you see I-Zzzzzzzz!"
If it isn't obvious now, Parakarry was fast asleep.
Oh. He was sleeping on the job. Well, that's not good! It looked like this entire holiday season was taking a toll on him more than she thought.
Dropping her purse on the counter with a thump, Watt hovered towards the sleeping Parakarry and nudged him, shooting out the tiniest jolt of electricity; it wasn't enough power to hurt him, but hopefully it was enough to snap him awake. "Wake up!" she cried out.
"Goose, we're going to crash!" the now alert Parakarry babbled as he shot up from his chair. "Huh, where am I? This...this isn't Marrymore." Frazzled, he blinked and realized that he was not riding a bus on to stop Bow's marriage to Tubba Blubba but back in his store. "Watt? Oh, hello."
He stretched his arm over his head and let out a huge yawn. "Mmph...I wasn't sleeping on the job, I was just resting my eyes."
Watt tilted her head, skeptical. "Really? It looked you were sleeping like a log and having some kind of a weird dream until I zapped you! I know that you're really really busy right now, but, um, have you been getting any sleep at all lately?"
"Yeah. I just had a really long route today." He rubbed his eyes. "I had to go to Marrymore to deliver some decorations for an upcoming wedding and then I handed in a few letters in Donburi Island." He stretched again and stood up. "And after that, I had to fly all the way to a town called Ivalice to deliver a package of books. It ate a several hours of my time."
He paused. "Well...sort of. Technically, I was gone for ten minutes. Time works...very oddly in this city."
He sat back down and smiled as his sleepiness slowly drifted away. "Anyway...what brings you here today?"
"You got that right. I bet if you flew all around the world you'd only be gone for an hour here!" Watt chimed in.
"Oh yeah! Um, I have some cards that I wanna send out, but first I wanna show you something! Look, look!"
Watt glided back a few inches away from the counter, closed her eyes tightly and started to concentrate. For a few seconds, it seemed like nothing would happen. But then...
"Hee hee! Thanks! I'm still gonna keep my bow though, just in case. I'm still gonna need it! See?"
She opened up her purse to prove her point. Sure enough, nestled inside was her purple bow...along with about 15 different Christmas cards. She miiiight have gotten overboard with the whole writing Christmas cards thing.
"Oh yeah, hee hee," said Watt, pulling out every one of her cards from her purse. "I decided to send out some cards to everyone I know back at the Mushroom Kingdom! I dunno if I'll see them when I go back home for the holidays, so I might as well send everyone something. Just in case!"
There was some variety in the cards that she wanted to send out. However, the vast majority of the cards seemed to be addressed to people that they had met during their adventures, such as some of the Shy Guys she befriended at the Toy Box, the cranky wizard Merlon, and, of course, to Mario and their fellow party members.
He flew into the back room to file them away. He had shelved his third card away when his stomach lurched.
"Cards."
It hit him.
"Cards. Friends."
He had yet to write any cards to his friends back home. He had yet to write up any cards to his friends here. He had not even gone shopping for gifts yet.
"Confound it." he muttered to himself as he continued putting away the mail. He was going to be in for one long evening tonight.
Meanwhile, Watt was trying to pass the time, pacing around a bit and admiring the little decorated pine tree. She mostly stuck around the front of the office, quietly listening to the shuffling of the cards and...some mumbling as well.
"Everything okay back there?" she asked, leaning in front of the counter.
"Okay, sounds good!" Watt replied, giving him a thumbs up. "I know that you're really really busy this month, but hang in there! It'll be over before you know it!"

“I finally did it! I can transform without my bow now!” she squealed, jumping up and down in place.
Granted, she wasn’t entirely in the clear; she’d still transform back without warning if she got surprised by something. But hey! It’s a good start!

"Congratulations! I knew you could do it!"
He hovered over her impressed. He knew that Watt would get the hang of humanization quickly.

He stuffed the final envelope and flew back to her.
"Okay, I should get them out soon."
