(
Look back at him, then me, then him, then me. I'm on a horse. )
From his place in the stands, he saw a lone man on horseback practicing flow and attacks through a messy field. Moving closer to the stage, he called out. "A bit of a static battle, is it not?"

He forced his steed to turn and controlled the movements of the magnificent animal with the heels of his boots. As he grew closer to Rhys, he maintained a tight grasp on the hilt of his sword. "A static battle? Not in the least," he began. "One should be able to imagine the movements of the enemy. However, perhaps you would like to join me, good sir."

He watched Rhys carefully, unsure of whether he should classify him as friend or foe. There were few in the academy Marth had truly disliked and if first impressions spoke anything, he heard wisdom in Rhys' voice. "You sound as though you have a recommendation, or perhaps that you wish to participate. In other words, to create this 'heat of battle' as you have put it."

"However, you seem to be more than average. Do you think you could hit your targets through a cannon barrage?"

He smiled, perhaps a little too confidently, and tightened the grasp upon the hilt of his sword. "A cannon barrage?" he asked curiously. "I would not be against the attempt. I will show you precise how above average I am." And that was definitely some confidence, but certainly Marth had the impressive lineage to back up his words.

He closes his eyes, and hunched his shoulders slightly, gathering the strength to transform.
Ever see a Pokemon transformation, Marth?

So he simply watched and stared in awe, which might have seemed uncharacteristic of him momentarily. After all, the emperor had only often ever portrayed himself with the most collected composure. But evidently it seemed there were still some things capable of surprising him.

"Pyr." Unfortunately, communication was limited in this form. His order of 'Go' meaning nothing to human ears. Without waiting for a response, he begins scooping the ground beneath them into the palms of his hand.

Of all the things for him to say, 'pyr' was the only one he was capable of. Marth wasn't even sure of what to think. But when he saw what Rhys was doing, he thought he had an idea. His right hand tightened the grasp upon the hilt of the Falchion and he turned in the heels of his boots against the sides of his steed.
The horse moved easily at his command and the pace was a casual one, at least until he knew what he had to dodge and what he could use his sword to either slice through or deflect. He had the strange idea, however, that anything Rhys hurled was going to be too large to do the latter with. He would have to do his best with the dodging.

Rhys takes aim, lifting one heavy arm up to the air, clearly showing off the large hole in the center. "Pyrrrrior!" First, a warning shot. A head-sized ball of dirt and stone hurtles through the air, the trajectory too far to the right to be of any harm. A cloud of dust erupts from the ground as it crashes down. With what could easily be described as a toothy grin, he aims again, a little closer this time.
