The day had finally arrived, and Giovanni looked over the dig site as they arrived with quiet excitement. He'd been waiting for this day, and found himself not worried if something might happen. Surely nothing could go wrong. It was just too perfect. The area being worked on was staked out in a square, four iron stakes wrapped with yellow police tape,, and more around the cave entrance, and men shouting to each other from inside. It was a fairly big dig, but with care, it would turn into a nice bit of prof-er, valuable information.
Alright, so he'd pulled some not quite legit strings to give the museum extra hands in the form of students in exchange for a few pieces, but it's not like anyone was going to know.
He turned to the students, and grinned, "Welcome to the dig, everyone. These next two days will be backbreaking an amazing opportunity to learn about cultures in the past and how they lived. It'll be hard work," he put his fists to his hips, still smiling, "but everything is worth it for this knowledge and what we can help the museum out with. Remember, this is an easy A to replace your lowest grade, but only if you actually do some work." He might have eyed a few students he thought had only come for the free grub, "For those who want to take a break, we have tents under which to rest, and we also have sifting stations if you want easy work for a bit. There's also areas for hard digging, and others for more delicate digging around objects. And of course, the museum has kindly provided food for us. In fact, we should thank them for letting us participate as well. Please make sure to do so in person when you can."
Turning to the side, he waved his hand over the dig in a grandiose fashion, "Alright, let's get to work!"
