Snake hadn't stepped one foot into the library since she left.
Well, that wasn't entirely true. He had rushed in that one day when Ocelot shaved years off and lost all the memories to go along with it. But not since then. Just because Ocelot no longer carried Liquid with him didn't mean he trusted him any more, and he labeled the library as a Place To Avoid At All Costs. But now EVA was back.
EVA, who he figured he could probably call his friend. Who expressed a causal interest in him. Who, it turns out, had been leaving him the same kind of flower on various holidays every year. Unmarked. Snake had never told her his birthday.
He swore that when and if she ever came back, he would get some answers. And that was his intention this afternoon, on his way to the library.
