Surge walked through the hallways, heading towards Ampere's dorm. Although on the outside, he appeared calm and content, he was rather giddy on the inside. He simply couldn't help his love for electric Pokemon, and Pikachus were no exception.

Hell, Pikachu was one of his favorite Pokemon. So he was a little biased towards the student without having actually met her yet. But that's why he was going to show her around the stadium. It was a way to get to know her. And Surge was damn well sure going to know all of the electric Pokemon on the campus.

With a quick knock on the dorm door, he waited for Amp.

Amp was quick to hear the knock on the door, and boop! Up went her ears faste than a flash of lightning. Was this Surge? It was probably Surge. Soon, they were going to be right at that stadium and having so much fun and it was going to be SO GRAND.

"Pikaaaaaaa!"

The little mouse Pokemon then ran for the door to attempt to open it.

And then proceeded to accidentally smack her head on the door from running. That resulted in quite an audible shock. Literally. "Chuuuuuu!" Zap went her cheeks.

Having trained with electric Pokemon for so long, Surge could hear the crackle of electricity. It was a bit muffled by the door, but the lieutenant's senses were rather sharp.

"Hey, you okay?" he asked loudly enough for Amp to hear. Ah wait. If Amp was in Pokemon form, then perhaps she had had trouble opening the door. That would explain the thud from before. That was... kind of cute. "Need any help?"

It took Amp a moment, but she managed to pull herself back up to her feet and shake herself out of the temporary stupor. That really hurt her head! She was way too clumsy sometimes.

Then she realized that Surge had asked her a question. She wasn't sure what, but he... asked something. She could just open the door and try to answer him to the best of her ability!

Well, except that she couldn't open that door, no matter how hard she tried. She was far too short. Oops.

"Piii!" She scratched at the door, signifying that she did indeed need some help. Good thing that was what he was asking her anyway.

"Yeah, that's right. Usin' a Thunder Stone, Pikachu evolves into Raichu. Though I guess it could be a bit difficult to get your hands on a Thunder Stone."

Surge just blinked in surprise. It seemed a little odd that the Pokemon didn't know about her own evolution line. Then again, if she had spent her whole life sheltered in Viridian Forest, it made sense. At least the last time the lieutenant had checked, there weren't any Raichus there.

Amp... wasn't sure what to think of this. The idea of evolution for a second time sounded like fun, especially since she'd done it before through beaming happiness and experience. However, evolving with... a stone? Not the most appealing thing, for some reason. Plus she liked being a Pikachu. It... held some kind of enjoyment. Some odd enjoyment. Perhaps it was the energy level, the speed, the lifestyle... no, it was probably just everything. She liked being like this!

"I get it, but I don't think I'm ever going to evolve! Ever! Being a Pikachu is fun!" She exclaimed. "I can show you, too! It's really fun, lots of fun, chu! Wanna watch me attack Sandbags?!"

Surge laughed, "Alright, alright. So no evolvin'. Not like anyone's forcin' ya. 'Sides, you might change your mind in the future." Not that it was the lieutenant's place to say anything. That was up to Amp to decide.

"Oh?" he folded his arms. "Go right ahead. Let's see what you can do." Hearing stories from the other non-human students, humanization took some getting used to. But he did have to admit that he was curious as to what she could do in that form.

Amp wasn't so sure about changing her mind, but oh well. It really was her own decision, not Surge's, and he told her he wasn't forcing her, basically. He was so nice! No wonder he was a gym leader ( ... )
