Everyday Ganondorf pulls off his shirts and does yard work. reign_of_power April 20 2010, 02:56:59 UTC
Did someone say MANLY MEN AT WORK? 4x4_of_manly April 20 2010, 03:09:00 UTC
Being shirtless in public wasn't normally Lighter's thing. But it was hot out, and he didn't want to be outdone by the other shirtless men around.

Of course, he wasn't going to be anywhere near Ganondorf. The guy was bad enough when Lighter was fully dressed.

So he decided to help with repairing the roof, up out of reach of the general public. It felt good to be doing a community project like this again.

Suddenly, rock snake!

Onix was the perfect height for roof work, especially when lumber and tools had to be transported to said roof. The giant Pokemon was very pleased to be doing his part, and also enjoying some fresh air for once.

So when Lighter least expected it, the rocky behemoth poked his head into the handyman's workspace, spitting out a few two-by-fours he was transporting from the ground onto the temporary scaffolding.

When Lighter was least expecting it would have been any time. He almost jumped when the giant stone monster thing appeared next to him. Wasn't that the same thing that had torn up the landscape a few months back? And now it was helping do repairs... That was kind of funny. For a chimera or a pokeyman or whatever it was, it wasn't that bad. Of course, being what it was, it was probably sentient just like all the other ones at this school, so it would only be polite to thank it or something.

"...Uhhh." Lighter held his hand out tentatively, as though to try to pat Onix's nose. "Good work so far."

Onix growled in acknowledgment, nudging the boards towards the center of the platform.

His trainer followed shortly after, ascending said giant stone monster thing quickly as if he were a cliff face. Brock clambered up onto the scaffolding, carrying a bucket. "I brought some more nails."

After catching word on this, Dana decided to get in on the helping.

PONY TIME. She decided to do some of the heavy work first, being a GIANT FRIGGIN TIME DINOSAUR. ...Onix why are you still bigger than Dana. Sob. The Temporal pokemon snorted at the large rock snake and held the boards in her mouth, waiting for them to be taken by him to hand off. Cause that's how she rolls.

Woah there, giant time pony.

While Brock gawked, Onix got the hint and took the boards from her totally making out with Dialga in the process chyeah and, in turn, handed them off to his still-gawking trainer.

When the guardian of time said take the boards, you took the boards.

Lighter gawked too, but not because he thought there was anything particularly special about Dana. His mind would have been blown if he knew she was some kind of time god, but for now he was just overwhelmed by these massive but gentle beasts towering over the greenhouse like that.

He took a moment to wipe some sweat from his brow, letting out a low whistle.

"So these're both... Pokeymans, right? Which students are they? It's hard to tell with lots of'em."

Of course, she didn't mean to be so hard on the snakey. Grunting, she nuzzled against him in an "I apologize for being so gruff" way. Then she totally made out with him lowered her long neck down to grab a few more boards, lifting it up slowly.

Another pokemon appeared on Onix's other side with more lumber.

She was watching.

Always.

After a few moments of gawking at Dialga, Brock realized that Lighter was asking him a question.

"Oh, uh. That's Dialga." He said, pointing out the giant blue dinosaur-pony. "You're a student, right, Dialga? And this is Onix. He's not a student." The rock snake responded with a growl in greeting before joining the other Pokemon in board-transport once more.

Then a pile of vines showed up. "Hey, Tangrowth." Brock smiled and turned back to lighter. "And this is one of Erika's Pokemon."

Someone was jeaaaallooous. How cute. Dana nodded and grunted to the question given to her, and then went back to her job. Derp derp.

He grabbed a nail and got back to work, pausing every now and then to either watch the Pokemon or to keep asking questions. "So what makes you decide to have them not be students? Are they more like... pets or somethin'?"

Onix snorted through a mouthful of two-by-fours at the word "pet", and Brock chimed in a little more politely. "Not at all. My Pokemon are my partners. I asked them if they wanted to attend the school, but they didn't seem to have any interest in it."

And the giant rock snake nodded as if to confirm this fact.

That was probably for the best. Even if this rock creature was being friendly now, who knows what kind of student it would be.

"Partners... Right, so you're part of this, uh, league thing, right? You make'em fight against each other? What kinda partnership is that?"

"Wonder why not? I mean, seein' all these other pokeman- thingies turnin' human and walking around and talking and stuff, doesn't he get kinda jealous?"
Fuel, when did you get here. Why are you butting into other people's conversations like that.
Oh well, they probably wouldn't mind, and this stuff was kind of interesting to him. He'd managed to piece together a little bit about this pokemon stuff, the league and it's workings and such, but all in all, the whole thing just confused him.
