Knuckles gave his friend a wave and slapped the bar stool next to him in an invitation to park it. "Hey hey Mac! Good to see you, pal!"

Knuckles had been looking forward to some time with his buddy. They had both been pretty busy and outside the Gym and weight room, they hadn't managed to just sit around and talk lately. This was gonna be great.

"I got first round." He announced to the boxer. "I'll take a Buttweiser and whatever my pal here is drinking."

"He got I.D.?" asked the bartender.

Knuckles wasn't sure, but he WAS pretty sure that Mac was underage. And even if he himself used to get away with underage drinking because no-one could tell what he was half the time let alone how old he was... it probably wasn't going to fly with young Maccers here.

Mac sat down when he was invited. His thin coat still on from being outside in this early March evening. Mac brought money to help pay. Knuckles was quick on the gun, but Mac would pay the second if there was one. If not, then he could offer to pay for something some other time to repay him.

"Uhm, eheh. You got protein shakes, right? I'll just take one of those. Strawberry, if you got it." Mac nervously spoke to the bartender, with a small smile. So yeah, he was certainly underage and Mac was not willing to break the law for a beer.

The Basrtender had no idea really what a protein shake was. But he did offer milkshakes and smoothies for people who didn't want to drink other stuff, so, he bustled off to make Mac one of those.

"He's a little gruff, but OK." Knuckles informed Mac. "I think he's had trouble with the law for seeling to underage folks before so he's pretty careful about it. Don't worry, you'll be nineteen one day! Or just get invited to one of the parties we have that's B.Y.O."

"Heheh, well he don't have to worry too much. I ain't into doin' things like that." Mac adjusted himself on the seat. He really felt bad not doing this much sooner, but they were here now. After a whole lot has happened in the past few weeks.

"So Knux...how've you been lately?" Lamest way to start a conversation, but it was all he could think of.

"Hmm.. a little Up n Down, but I think everyone has." Knuckles replied, gratefully taking his beer from the barkeep and passing Mac his shake. "The whole Valentines thing, then one of my friends getting arrested for a crime she didn't commit, working to ger HER free, AND trying to keep up with school work and training has been kinda a drain." he admitted honestly. "But there's been some good parts too. Metting the new folks around has been great especially."

He took a long swallow and belched mannishly into his glove. "What about you?"
