Even if he SIGNED UP HIMSELF, he still felt uncomfortable. Hopefully the date would turn out alright. In the meantime, he sit and twiddled his thumbs nervously.

Jeff walked into the restaurant and started towards the assigned table. Then stopped. And stared.

Those glasses. Those braces. That horribly tacky outfit. True, Jeff didn't actually know Larry all that well. But he had noticed the other boy in the hallways a few times. More or less, he pretty much ignored the other's journal. In the blonde's opinion, Larry was as dorky as they came.

Resisting the urge to sigh, he sat down at the table. Might as well pretend to be civil. "Hello..."

((Tacky? He's wearing pretty normal clothes right now.))

Why was this guy sitting at his table? Why was THIS GUY sitting at his table?! There had to be a mistake.

"Uhhhhhh, um excuse me sir." Larry nervously tried to get his point across. "I think you might have the wrong table, derp. I'm sitting here and I'm really sure it's supposed to be A5." Could the 'NO GUYS PLEASE' part have been any less clear? Was this a prank?

This was going to be an awkward night.

Quirking an eyebrow, Jeff glanced down at the sign on the table. Yes, it was quite obvious this was table A5. Besides, it wasn't like him to make such blatant mistakes.

"No, we both have the right table." Perhaps Larry had been hoping for a specific person as his date? Either way, they were stuck with each other. "It seems we have been paired up for this little date. Oh well. Might as well make the most of it."

No, Larry had been hoping for a specific gender. "D-derp, you're right..."

He scratched the back of his head nervously. "I just remember when I signed up I specifically requested...uh..." Awkward pause. "a girl."

Oh. Well that made sense. Jeff placed his elbow on the table and rested his chin in his palm. "How unfortunate for you. I would say that perhaps Princess Peach made a mistake, but I highly doubt this was her fault."

As an afterthought, the blond smirked and asked, "Does dating a guy really bother you that much?"

"I wouldn't blame miss Toadstool, d-derp..."

He didn't mean for it to sound offensive, it's just simply not his preference.

"It's not that, it's just that I don't roll that way. Y'know? I'm totally okay with it though. Iiit's just me really."

What a boring answer. This was going to be one of the slowest nights of Jeff's life. Better change the topic before he started to fall asleep.

"I see. Well whatever your preference might be, it doesn't really matter now. If you don't mind my asking, why did you decide to sign up for the blind date anyway?" Jeff highly doubted Larry knew many girls on his own who could be deemed 'date material.'

Wasn't it obvious? "W-well I... I thought I could give this a shot. You can't really turn down a blind date, y'know?" You'd be shocked Jeff, Larry is very interested in having a girlfriend. Of course, that wouldn't happen so easily nor did he really care. It could wait. "Was... this a bad idea then? Great..." Another plan ruined. Oh well.

"Hm? Oh, no," Jeff waved off the question. "It's just that there are numerous reasons to go on a blind date. Personally, I just signed up as an excuse to waste some time. But I suppose I can't blame you for heading into this with a more serious outlook."

He shook his head. "I'm not... that serious about it!" Larry had to pause again, in order to figure out what to say next. "That's why I don't mind! We could just blow off the date part anyway." Thumbs drummed against the side of the table. "If that's okay with you? I mean, we could still... do other stuff. Right?" He needed more people to talk to, maybe more friends?

"Other stuff? Do you have any suggestions?" He folded his arms and relaxed back in the chair. To be honest, doing something else did sound better than hanging out in such a romantic atmosphere. But Jeff wasn't sure what they could do that they were both into. "I suppose I'm up for anything."

"Maybe we could get something eat, as in, somewhere else with a more friendly atmosphere." If not... "Oooor we could just do something else, do you like video games?"

At the mention of video games, Jeff inwardly cringed. He couldn't help but be reminded of a certain obnoxious red head. "I'll pass on the video games. But grabbing a bite somewhere else does sound better."

The blond was tempted to make a few suggestions, but no doubt those would all be out of Larry's price range. So he might as well let the other student choose. "I'm not in the mood for any type of food in particular, so you can decide."

"Really? Derp, I don't really have a preference... But I'll pay for us, man!" Yes Jeff, anything you pick would be out of Larry's price range. Good thing his nature is quirky and he'll happily eat anything.
