"Heeyyy-yooo!" Knuckles called, giving a rap at Louie's door. He was more than prepared to let Louie pick the location, and had also dressed pretty casually.

Louie answered the door after he quickly dropped his cookbook onto his bed. He could put that back up in his cookbook drawer when he was done with Knuckles. Yes, he did have an entirely separate drawer for just cookbooks, notebooks (relating to his recipes), and food magazines. Hey, he had a lot of them.

"Hello!" He softly replied, shutting the door behind him. "It's nice to see you, and ... um... well, do you know where you'd like to eat? What kind of food do you prefer for lunches?" He asked as they went down the hallway.

"I don't really know where I'd like to go - I thou8ght I'd let you decide being you're more knowledgeable about food than me. As for what I like to eat, I am vegetarian though I'll eat eggs and Dairy just fine.... my favorites are fruits but I like sweets too. The calories are a good energy boost for my training!"

Louie smiled a little at the description, and put a cupped hand over his chin as he thought of where they could go. "Hmmm... well... there is a little diner nearby that does sell wonderful dishes that you might like," He nodded. "It's a very peaceful place... and the food is nice. We can go there?" He lead him out of the dorm complex and glanced over to his right, the direction they'd need to go to get there. Thankfully, it was manageable walking distance.

"Sounds good to me!" Knuckles said with a nod.

As they started to walk, he turned to Louie. "Oh! And hey... I found out where I went wrong with my pie! Too much liquid in the filling and too much sugar - the liquid boiled faster than the shell could bake which is why it bubbled over like that and because of the caramel and stuff, when it was exposed to the heat the sugar caught fire... I had it on too high of a heat, too. So... I'll do better next time!"

"Oh...!" Louie exclaimed, staring at him in a way of being proud that he pinpointed the problem! Learn from your mistakes, as they always say. "That's very good! I had a feeling you'd do better next time anyway... but at least you learned what was wrong... so you'll know for the future." He smiled, happy that his students were picking up some things from his class at all.

A hop, timeskip, and a jump away, they quickly reached the diner. 'Vineyard Diner' was what it was called, apparently. ((lol not original 8D)) "Here it is," He said, before walking over to the front door and opening it up to allow Knuckles in first.

"Thanks!" Knuckles said, walking through the door and looking around.

It was cosy, and as Louie had said, peaceful. Potted plants gave it a cheery atmosphere and the place smelled of great food. Knuckles stomach gave a quiet gurgle of fascination as his nose twitched - he'd not managed to catch breakfast today so he was more than a little hungry!

Louie led the two over to a table for two where, of course, the menus were located. He picked up his own and scanned over the familiar list of dishes, wondering what he would be getting today. So many good things... the sliced rotisserie chicken salad, the fruit cobbler (though that was more of a dessert thing), their pot pies, their sandwiches, their stuffed mushrooms... it all seemed so good!

"Mm... I think I've decided what I want, what would you like?"

Knuckles glanced through the list. "I know what I want... the garden salad with extra olives, and then a couple helpings of the fruit cobbler.. and a banana split for dessert."

Louie nodded in reply and waved over to the nearest employee, who quickly popped over to ask what they would like.

"Oh, well ... if you have any fruit drinks... I'd like one," The man accepted this and wrote that down before Louie finished up his order. "And I would like a stuffed mushroom platter with a small all-Italian sandwich."

The waiter then jotted that down and turned to Knuckles to ask for what he'd want.
