Smash Fundamentals Lecture #7 - Recovery

Jun 18, 2008 16:10

Hello class, beep! Today's class will be about recovery. Recovery is the second most important thing to Smashing (the first part is about Smashing, don't ya know?). Recovery involves you using all that you have in your power to get back onto the stage. If you don't, you'll get KOed! You must recover!

The basic recovery method is done in three steps. *pushes a button and the stadium simulates Battlefield*

To demonstrate, I'll jump off the ledge here. Don't worry, falls down only means you'll just reappear above on that platform, beep *points above to a glowing platform* That's the Respawn Platform. Every time you come from there means you just had a KO counted.

Anyway! Here is the first step *leaps off the edge pretty far*

First step! Jump, beep! *jumps in the air once*

Second step! Double jump, beep! *jumps again, cartwheeling in the air*

Third step! Recovery Move, beep! *uses Fire to lift himself back up onto the ledge.*

A successful recovery! *climbs up the ledge*

Most recoveries are done by these simple steps. Some people may have an alternate special move which may aid them in recovery. Oh what's a double jump you say, beep? Think of it as simulating the sensation of jumping from solid ground, except in the air.

*leaps up once and then leaps again* It may sound confusing, but you will find it second nature soon enough, beep.

I would like to see you students demonstrate a successful recovery method. Demonstrate by leaping off this edge and then using recovery to get back on.
