Only a few minutes ago Samus got a codec call from Kyle and Falcon who were apparently chasing a glimmering blue dot on the horizon that wasn't Sonic that was probably the sad remnants of Raptor Perry formally known as the Falcon Flyer. It was gone, gone, gone.

How those two managed to get this far out on foot away from the safety of the school was beyond Samus but they weren't going to be able to walk back by themselves. Not before dark. What little sunlight that managed to squeeze through this despicable dome made night feel all the more dark and miserable throughout this entire war.

Taking the gunship would have been so much more convenient, not to mention faster and less dangerous ...except the last four times Samus tried to fly above the tree line she was assaulted by winged monsters of countless shapes and sizes. And they were relentless. While her gunship was pretty combat capable, but she didn't feel like taking another risk and hoping for good luck and clear skies. Her motorcycle should have been enough.

So that was what she took, and she took Snake along for backup. Which might of been a poor decision retrospect since it was... well.. a two-seater. She probably would have insisted it felt wrong going without him. She only realized that as they were almost to Kyle and Falcon's location... If they complained Falcon and Kyle could walk home. In the dark. Alone.

The aparoids were getting nasty lately. Smarter. Meaner. More desperate. It felt like something was going to break soon. That alone urged Samus to go racing through woods and make roadkill out of any unfortunate bugs stupid enough to get in the hovering bike's path or in front of Snake's sharp shooting guns. After whizzing past some crumbled, toppled-over buildings and over cracked asphalt roads, Samus spotted them.

"There they are!" She slowed down and waved with one arm as she approached. "Hey! Falcon! Kyle!"
