She couldn't wait to tell Chamille all about it.
When the chameleon entered, Katt's face brightened, and she waved her over to her table.
Even with the layers of clothing, Katt noticed the subtle difference in Chamille's body shape. She couldn't help but grin. "You've grown."

She made her way over to the table and sat down with her friend, a bit nervous, though. "How's everything?"

The accent threw her off just a little, but not enough to set off any mental alarms. It had been almost three months since the last time they talked, after all - and maybe Chamille was going to a snooty british school like the one Krystal supposedly came from...
"Busy as all hell." Katt answered Chamille's question. "These guys and I started a rock band and hijacked the school's intercom for our premiere." She grinned sassily. "Since then it's been all about rehearsing and causing trouble, especially with one bandmate in particular." She was, of course, referring to Ganondorf, the speedo-wearing organist.
She wanted to avoid the subject of Falco altogether. After all, Chamille was trying to get away from the emofest that was her uncle. But she didn't know if it was possible to ignore the issue completely.
But she would try. "What about you? What have you been up to these past few months?"

"I've... just been trying to live life. The usual. I can't say anything epic has happened in Diamond City" she smiled weakly. "But like I said in the letter, I came here because my uncle's a suck puppy who isn't doing anything to solve his own problems. It doesn't help that Panther left as well."
The reptillian crossed her arms, nerves jerked a bit unsettling at what her arms felt on her chest. "B-but he's a lost cause. My uncle. I'm just going to reap in what I can from this town while I'm here."

"Alright!" Katt grinned. "It's not far, so we can walk there while we finish our drinks."
It was just a few blocks down the street. Pedestrian traffic was horrible as always in Final Destination City, but they managed to navigate through despite some of the unusual looks that Katt was getting for her outfit and haircolor.
As expected, the karaoke joint was located in a part of town with the most asian influence. Katt stopped briefly at a convenience store to pick up a few boxes of pocky and some ramune, then they entered Crown Karaoke.
At the front desk, a geeky gijinka turtle (he still had a shell) asked how long they'd be staying, and Katt flipped out a forged year-long pass that she had printed out and laminated herself. He looked at it confusedly, and reluctantly let them into the best room in the place.

Chamille was already snacking on a packet of Brazillian Pudding Pocky when they entered their room. White and modern, a stage with karaoke equipment at the far end and a modern table with five colorful chairs stood at the center of the room. It was months since they last been here together. Excitement filled the chameleon like a hyper teenager, only feeling bad that she dressed so bummy for such a nice place.
She helped unload the snacks onto the table and the ran to ready the machine.
First they start with the classic. Chamille put on "C'est la Vie" and tossed Katt the second microphone.
