adventuring with ll
the weekend.
friday.
met for jmcg for vodka and gin drinks after work. went to a mini art show made up of handmade stuffed animals and drank stoli blueberry shots. then we went got plantain burritos and went to my house. ts and i cleaned up in anticipation of the new roomate moving in saturday. later ll and i left to go up north to the yuba river. i slept most of the drive, to ll's dismay. but what can he expect? it was past midnight when we left and i had my pillow! we arrived at the campground super late and crashed out asleep with the early birds chirping away.
saturday.
ll and i lagged in the tent lazy style, read and took another nap. then the sun broke through the trees and it was so hot we jumped up and packed everything up in like 5 minutes. ate burrito leftovers and shared a beer for brunch or whatever. quickly drove to the river and jumped in ASAP, though it was much colder and much faster than usual. we swam around and it was wonderful! we missed jw and fp,as they were supposed to come too. unfortunately, jw had been stranded in las vegas on a layover back from a work trip. she was so sad that she didn't make it to the river,and i was too! we will go again soon, the three hour drive is ALWAYS worth it! after swimming for about four hours, ll and i decided to go home to SF so we could still have sunday in the city. came back in shortest time ever (due to no traffic) and consulted our new roomate on the arrangement of her furniture. ll helped her rebuild her bed and i threw out some old furniture. ended up being most fun and most productive day in quite some time!

made fancy breakfast for ll et moi. then we watched "whoa! sunday" on animal planet for an hour. consulted about more furniture options and then went for a bike ride to the beach. hung out there for awhile, biked back through golden gate park and then visited b at his little frenchy cafe. he made me a nice iced latte and gave us some free madelines and a baguette. we came home and i made the best lasagna EVER if i do say so myself! and watched "the phoenix" our household favorite korean soap opera. i don't know how we found it or even came to love it so much, but EVERYONE loves it at our house, especially ll! his enthusiasm about it is so cute and hilarious! the plot thickens and we are getting impatient with waiting a whole week for a new episode. ts is considering buying the whole series (26 episodes), watching it and then reselling on the internet. i think she should do it so that we can watch them all and go crazy.
