It seems to be about that time again. Luckily, I actually have things of moderate importance to discuss.

First and foremost, I graduated. It was a long, tedious, unnecessary affair, but it's done with. Now I have an ornamental piece of paper in a frame to announce to the world I spent 4 years and several thousand dollars learning stuff I never plan on using again.

Secondly, my summer is already on the downhill slide. I got to do something I've wanted to do for the better part of a decade...attend a Stanley Cup playoff game. And, I got to do it twice. And not just any ol' playoff game, either, but western conference finals games.

I wish there were words worthy of describing what it was like to be at the AAC for games 4 and 6 of that series against Detroit. For game 4 I was on the third tier, just inside the defending blue line. Great seats. I've seen a lot of cool things live at sporting events. I've seen Vince Young toss a TD at Kyle Field, A-Rod homer, a 24 point UT comeback at Tech...but nothing rivals, and I can't imagine anything coming close anytime soon, seeing Mike Modano score the game winning goal in a win or go home for the offseason game. That moment might actually be my #1 2008 highlight. I guess we'll see.

For game 6 I sat directly on the attacking blue line in the bottom bowl, 17 rows behind the Detroit bench. Omg, it was amazing. it's unreal how much faster the game is from there than up top. The energy at the beginning of the game was indescribable. 18,500 waving towels, everybody hoping to see their team become only the 5th team ever to force a 7th game after being down 0-3. It wasn't to be, in fact Detroit would score the game winner just 10 minutes in. The entire third period ended up being a 40 minute standing ovation in appreciation of one of the most exciting seasons since they moved to Dallas from Minnesota. If you like sports, check out this little video...even if you might not neccessarily be into hockey. It's just a fun little montage of the best moments from the playoffs.

As for now I'm back in San Angelo, but not for too much longer. I'll be heading back to Lubbock to take the GMAT and look for a job...and mostly play golf and lounge around the pool. I've been hitting the course kinda a lot lately. I really hope I can improve my game alot the next couple of months.

Congratulations to all you folks that also graduated this semester. I honestly have no clue who really reads anymore to know who it might apply to...but nonetheless.

College graduate,
Starting lots of summer fun;
The real world awaits...

End.
