i'm a twenty something in the beginnings of my graduate school education. in the previous 16 years of education, i worked hard. I learned what i needed to, studied enough to be a good candidate for this program, some years required actual studying and some did not.
what i've come to realize about all my friends getting engaged and married and having kids is that there's no rhyme or reason to the timing that is love. its just love. it has its own agenda and time fram and scale, and if you want quality, not quantity, you have to be patient, be open, and don't look for it. It's when you least care about something that the most wonderful things happen. and sometimes, what you really need to do is live some new part of your life and focus on yourself and learning new things/skills and then things more easily fall into place.
so no matter what your friends are doing, keep waiting, holding out for that gem, because he is out there, waiting for you too.
