Purebloods strike back.

It seems that its beginning in earnest now. I sometimes don't know what to think. That Meadowes bitch. She made me realise that there's no turning back now. There's no way to go but forward. Anything else would make you first on the wanted list on both sides.

Regulus. I feel like he's not telling me something. But I trust him to notify me if it's ( Read more... )

Absolutely. By the way, that was brilliance. Absolute brilliance.

But the plan. We should get to work. You got the potions, I presume? How high up do you think we should start?

And the bigger question, which policies? Should we start off with something simple like 'education institutions outside of the official remit of the Ministry of Magic are to apply to the Ministry for licences, and will only be given on the basis of them meeting standards of exceptional educational and academic merit'. I.e. if they're teaching people stuff that is a perfectly legitimate extention of Hogwarts teaching. Rather than teaching squibs to beat someone up.

Thank you.

I do have them. You can trust me to complete my assignments.

That's a possible one. However, I was thinking of something else. Something that permits the joining of this group called the Order. We must enforce the idea that they are the ones stirring up trouble and they are the ones trying to use the confusion now to off purebloods. This way, with the Ministry on our side (half of them are pureblood cowards sitting on the sidelines) it'll be much easier to deal with the radicals against us.

It's not that I didn't trust you. I more didn't trust panicky, small foreign Ministrys.

Hmm. To do that, we would have to get the Minister herself in our...control, if you will. She'd block that. It would prove difficult, but do able. Absolutely doable.

We can discredit her, if all else fails. Having most of the Wizengamot in our pocket helps things too. We don't have to be blatant about it. Something that prohibits the forming of Secret Societies perhaps?

Apart from the fact that causes a few problems for us, as well.

Not if we direct attention to them specifically. It's not as though we're open with our operations.

But if you find this challenging, I'm sure we can work out many others that would be to our advantage.

How do you intend to administer the potions?

Well, that's rather my point. So far, I haven't been caught for one thing I've done. I have no intention, should this go wrong, to have them haul me in on the charge of being in a society. It criminalises us both

I'm not sure. I was thinking cake, but we shall have to see.

How does giving someone gifts render you as being in a secret society? Come on Lucius, you can't possibly be at your wits end already. There are plenty of ways to do this without it linking back to you. It doesn't even have to be in your name.

That was not the problem I was having. My problem was using this opportunity to introduce laws which might well in the end, come to incriminate us.

If we're the ones overseeing the boundaries this law extends to, then there wouldn't be a problem, wouldn't it? However, this is always open for discussion. Rather than having just the two of us mulling over this, I suggest we take a few of our friends (a select few with the necessary intelligence and level of tact) into our confidance and discuss this properly. It must yield results faster than if only two heads were working on this.

No, but what if it goes wrong and we can no longer control that? Not to mention, the more laws we create which could incriminate us both, the more people will expect it to be even handed.

But you're right, and I think that would be wise. And I presume you mean 'don't invite Dolohov or Bellatrix', correct?

This is why we need more brains on this, to get around that problem.

I always enjoy working with someone who can read between the lines.
