Last weekend was fun. Went out on Friday and got drunker than drunk. I had a vanilla Stoli and Sprite, then 2 vodka gimlets, and then 2 beers. Oh, and a shot of tequila. It was one of our best friend's 25th birthday, so we had to celebrate in style. And that we did. When all was said and done, the bar tab (before tip) was $475. Granted, there were up to 20 people there drinking merrily at any given time, but still. People threw in, and the usual occurred--we were short, which led to much hand-wringing and pleading with people, and Kevin putting in way more than he should have. But it's his best friend, so he sees it as no big deal. Gotta love his attitude! It's right on the money (no pun intended--seriously!).

Anyway, there was more to my weekend. Weekend-ish things like laundry and shopping (got new hiking boots, which I desperately need since my old ones are 8 years old!) and phone calls to family and watching movies late at night while the rain poured and poured and poured down. Oh and dinner and conversation with friends, laughter and merriment, the par for the course these days for us. It was good. And I'm refreshed and revived for another week of work.

This morning dawned beautiful and sunny with a cool breeze knocking our window shade about and dancing across our bed. I didn't want to get out of it, and I didn't relish the thought of spending such a gorgeous day cooped up in my office. The good news is Kevin will be sitting in the cubicle next to me this afternoon! (He's doing part-time work for my company.) Yay!

What else is there?

Oh. Oh. This coming weekend we are bringing ourselves and all our friends down to the beach in Rhode Island. We've got a group of about 12 of us and there will be grilling and beaching (even if it's chilly, the RI beaches are bee-oo-tee-ful) and whiffle ball. Much fun. I really can't wait!

Stay tuned for more, I hope. I'm feeling a wave of procrastination coming on today, which means I'll more than likely be back here later!
