Intel's Conroe line of dual-core CPUs was finally unveiled a couple days ago. The upper-midrange chip, the Core 2 Duo E6600, outperforms AMD's Athlon FX-62 for $316. Did I mention that the FX-62 costs $1045+, and even after the huge price cuts AMD has planned will still run approximately $800? What the shit? AMD is however cutting the price of the X2-5000+ from $650 to $282, which is decent but seems to be about as much as they can do at this point.
It's so weird how the market can change so quickly after five years of AMD beating the snot out of Intel. Now I just have to keep making money.
