Here's a couple photos from last weekend:
Here I am, pretending I'm one of the bartenders from Coyote Ugly (which I've never seen). Fact: I don't know how to mix "nursable" drinks, only shots that you chug with one swallow, and they're all sweet.
That perv behind me is Dave, looking up my skirt. J/K! He is actually admiring my shot (mint/chocolate/cherry) because the layers are separate so you can see the individual colors. TY to Justin for taking the photos.
This weekend:
Watched Dave and Brando play hockey. Those two kick ass! Brando even made it into the penalty box. Awww. And true to Justin's curse, they won (because he wasn't there to see it ;) )
On saturday, I woke up and asked myself/Dave/Justin "why shouldn't I get a PSP?" Since nobody could come up with a good reason, me, Dave, and Justin went searching for two with Firmware 1.5 (for hacking and stuff). We finally found 2 with the correct firmware and with no dead pixels at Target! I bought Lumines, Justin bought Mercury. The rest of the day was spent on BFME, BF2, or PSPing. We're such geeky whores. I am looking forward to Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and SmartBall, but the SNES emulator runs slow =( Yes Bernice and Danny, THE Smartball!
Met up with the college group at the park for BBQ, yes, the day before the 4th. It was SO HOT though, and the park was so shadeless. I'm glad Brando & Courtney could make it. A bunch of us played dodgeball. I'm so old and out of shape it made me achy the next day. Courtney taught us to play Guillotine, which was a lot of fun. Danny kept saying Chinese phrases with accents in funny places. Ant was flying Spongebob kite and in the end gave it to a little girl.
And now for the highlight of the weekend:
I went to Chad & Danny's expecting to make crepes. When I got there, they wanted to make something else but didn't know what. We finally settled on Chinese dumplings. I've folded them when I was younger, but the skin was circular, not squared like the ones we bought here.
Chad is looking very motherly toward the dumplings. Yes, they do look like eggs. Alien eggs, as it were...
I'm not motherly, so I look like a maniac. Note our creative folding. And to the lower left of the cutting board is leftover skin because they insisted on packing the earlier dumplings with a lot of meat so we had a lot of skin left over.
While we're mixing the dipping sauce, Chad is looking over to the corner, ready to shoot lasers out of his eyes. Yes, I am very short, and Chad is very tall =P
It's Danny's turn to look like a maniac over his banana bread creation. Naw, he looks great with the Hawaiian apron Bernice got him. If only I could be so photogenic. Damn him.
Then we climbed on their roof to watch Disney fireworks (they live in Anaheim Hills). It looked cool even from far away. In the end they set off like 20 right after each other so it looked like a big huge splash in the sky.
Danny bought a number of green, yellow, and red sparklers (they said it was like fountains on a stick). It would've been less interesting had they not used a camera with time-lapse photography. Each person tried to write their own name and be creative with the sparklers. Here are a couple ones I liked:
Chad gets his own name on the first try! (This image is flipped horizontally).
Danny fails to write his name so many times. We usually saw "D" or "Da" or "Dan". Here he is making a nice lasso.
I finally get my name on the 3rd try...Even though it looks like I wrote "Alus". (flipped horizontally)
Chad lives inside a TV.
Danny finally gets his name after the 4th time!
I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.
Here is Mona (their mom) recreating the balrog's whip from Lord of the Rings.
Danny slashes at me! But I'm too quick - I duck, and I slash his side! Seriously though, he was trying to write his first name, and I was trying to write his last name. We failed miserably.
Fun weekend, yay!
