try to remember a time in september

So it's only been a few days -- one week-- since I last posted- this is an improvement, right?

Let's recap, shall we?

Monday- didn't do much- tried to get some Subway e-mails done but the internet/our network was acting up so that didn't happen. Ugh.

Tuesday- went to look at costumes for the play- we reserved some for rent. That was productive.

Wednesday- went on a wild goose chase trying to find some missing credit card reader machines from some of our restaurants. Out of the 3 stores I went to, I only got one machine- and they actually found it before I got there. The other 2 stores came up empty. Grrr. Had double play practice that night- both went pretty well.

Thursday- my birthday! It was a good day. I got to sleep in, that was pretty awesome. Then I chilled around the house a bit, ate some lunch, made some gumbo for a party I was going to on Friday, then had dinner- lasagna, YUMMY, and off to play practice again. Mindy brought cupcakes, so that was cute. Then back home for presents and cake with the fam. I got some nice gifts- my friend Mindy gave me a bunch of random stuff- a Sharpie Magnum marker.. that thing is NOT messing around and she knows I love Sharpies. LOL She also gave me a jar with clovers on it full of skittles, a Dorothy Celebriduck (random, again, but I like ducks), and some Mt. Dew lip gloss. Pretty awesome stuff. :)

My mom and dad gave me a painting. My mom has been painting for a couple of years now, and she gave us all paintings for Christmas 2 years ago. Her other paintings are on ebay if you want to check them out. I will eventually get around to posting the pics of the 3 I have. So anyway, I didn't know what I wanted for my bday but I was home a few weeks ago, and Mom had all the paintings out in the basement. I've wanted a lighthouse for a while.. so I figured I'd ask for one for my birthday.. and so I did and so it's now mine. yAY!

From my sis and brother-in-law, I got an illustrated encyclopedia of Military aircraft from the beginning to now- it's really cool and detailed and I'm such a nerd to like that. ;) They also gave me a book called "The Closet's All Mine" which you can read about here- it's basically a book written by a single Catholic woman about the struggles and good things about being single and a woman of (Catholic) faith. We found it in a random catalogue and I really decided I needed to read it- sounds like my life! So I'm excited to check that out.

My friend Mike gave me a book called "The Boys of Winter", about the 1980 US Olympic hockey team- I had actually read the book before- it was a while back- but I didn't own it yet so awesome!

Then I got a zillion facebook messages and some e-mails and phone calls wishing me a happy birthday too so that was pretty awesome. I have great friends and fam. :)

Friday- I went to a party with Erin. It was pretty chill. There were some people there- some I had met before, some I hadn't- but I was feeling pretty shy so I didn't chat it up with anyone new. Maybe next time. It was still fun though.

Saturday- I did a whole lot of nothing. Not entirely true- I cleaned my room and did some laundry and cleaned up the house a little bit. I watched last week's episodes of Psych and Haven (my new obsession- I LOVE that show and Lucas Bryant) then bummed around the house for the afternoon/evening. Last night I watched 3 episodes of MVP:The Secret Lives of Hockey Wives from my dvds, because I was in the mood for hot men and hockey and Lucas Bryant. There he is again- that man is teh hottttness.

So yeah.. today I caught up on my class assignments. It's going decently well- this week we start getting into the scouting so that should be neat. I'm looking forward to it. Now I should fly because I'm hungry and it's almost time for supper. Later!
