I don't need the weight of words to find a way to crash on through

Perhaps I should update.

This has been a very strange week. Heather was going to visit, but she was unable to do so, so that was a bit sad.

Also, since she wasn't coming, I volunteered to chaperone a Confirmation Retreat at church. HAH. These kids are about to be juniors in high schoola nd a few of them are the most obnoxious people I've ever met! But Bryan needed help, and it's not like I've never done a Confirmation Retreat before (1-2 every year of high school, pretty much) Oy. It was an experience.

Monday night I started to feel really ill around 3 a.m. I was planning to go to bed by 3:30ish anyway so I crashed a little early. I felt bad for my fellow chaperones, and usually I can stay up pretty late, but I was just hit by this intense headache and nausea like WHOA. I figured maybe if I could sleep, it would go away. I woke up around 7:30 and did not feel better. (and really, 4 hours of sleep isn't bad) I wa tired, but that wouldn't be so bad, but I STILL had the death headache and felt like puking. We had Mass at 8:30 and I almost left a couple of times.. but I managed to hold it together (I have a pretty high tolerence for resisting the hurl-factor, which is sometimes annoying, because usually you feel BETTER after puking!)

So anyway, after Mass, I begged off and went home to sleep for a while. I was pretty much useless between the headache and stomachache.. got home to find that Leah had been feeling pretty ill for a few days and Christopher was complaining of a headache and stuffy nose. SO I slept (died) for about 5 hours, then woke up (still with a headache but my stomach felt better), ate a sandwich and went back to help round up the heathens for the end of the lovely experience. I discovered that one of the kids there was sick and hurling, so at least I wasn't alone. I felt slightly lame, because I'm not really one to "call in sick" but I couldn't hack it.

So that was that. Wednesday Mom came here, on her way to Watertown to see 'Nee- she had to leave yesterday to pick Dad up in Syracuse and then they were off to W-town for the weekend. SO it was nice to visit with her a bit.

Yesterday was Thursday. ALL DAY (like until 5:30 when Quin said something that triggered it), I thought it was Friday. NO IDEA why but it was weird when I realized it. lol that's never happened to me before- that I thought it was the wrong day for a WHOLE DAY! It messed my head up man. so yeah.. I don't even remember what we did yesterday- Mom left at noon, I drove Braden and Alex to Buffalo for a friend's bday party and we just hung out here..
oh and I got my Collective Soul DVD! (and the Lifehouse one too, but I haven't watched it yet)

The CS dvd is AWSOME! It's a live performance they did with the Atlanta YOUTH Symphony Orchestra. It is a really neat thing and the songs are very well done. and of course the guys are... just AHHH. Joel makes me frickin hot and then Dean.. I just want to take him home. So yeah, I think one of 's picspam posts about the SPN boys mentioned something about being impregnated from staring at pics of hot boys- well if that could work, I'd be having about 94875876 Dean/Joel babies right about now LOL.

Which reminds me- 'Nee and I are planning to attend one more Live/Collective Soul/Counting Crows show before she leaves. It's on August 25 and it's in Wappinger Falls NY (about 5 hrs from here, 4 hrs from her place) we're meeting there, checing the show, staying then driving back home on Sunday. I'm pretty thrilled. I like this whole 'see bands I love on my birthday' (or close enough in this case) thing. It was OLP in 2001, Greenwheel last year and now Collective Soul! :):):) We didnt' buy tickets yet, because we want to be 1000000% sure that 'Nee isn't leaving until Sept 2 *they keep changing the stupid date!* but it's more or less a done deal. YAAAAAAYYY!

I know y'all are prolly sick and tired of my ramblings but it is necessary. If fall/winter/spring is for hockey ranting/drooling, summer is CONCERT season and concerts mean amazing musc and the ever-lovely gentlemen who make it.
Don't worry, I'll be back to the hockey love soon enough...

;)

I should get to bed. Tomorrow is the Air Show in Niagara Falls!!! WOOOOOHOOO Thunderbirds, et al. :) I'm sure I'll have pics to share soon!

....... still gotta work on those new icons.. any suggestions?

collective soul, life
