Okay, unforseen setback caused by Wimby.
I no longer have any desire to read Fedal fic. :/
I used to like Fedal fic. Well, it wasn't an OTP by far, but it was nice.
And now I don't particularly dislike it but I'm kind of looking at it and usually on tennisslash I'm dying to click the link to almost any fic and I kind of don't really want to. I

I'm happy that Igor went into the final but since he had to play the last set of the semi-final and the final match all in one day, I'm a bit sad that maybe the rain delay didn't help him win the title TT I was so looking forward to him winning the whole thing! *sad sigh*
Oh, also happy to know that your exams went well. Great job :D I envy you for the laidback life thing TT Good for you ^__^

Thanks Flamy even though I've only managed three. Rofl, I love your fics. :) I really hope I can, and soon. I get writer's block constantly though, even though the ideas are all there.
Aww, stupid rain delay. That's unfair. :( Well at least we know he was good enough to win. That's also important.
Thank you. This is probably my last laidback summer, so I'm enjoying it as much as possible. These days right now are the reason I go insane working during the school year...Otherwise I'd be completely unmotivated. I have to say, I even envy myself sometimes. XD
I wish I could borrow you from your normal life for awhile and share my laidback one with you, lol! *Hugs for Flamy!*

Fabrice won Newport again (I believe the last grass event of the year)! I had visited Newport a few months ago and I have to say the courts are rather crappy. Those commenting on the tournament said it was basically dirt with some dead grass - just about the same as I saw it in March. Sure, there are high-wattage retired tennis players around because of the Hall of Fame ceremony, but the tourney is not a draw (after all, Fish was the #1 seed and Fabrice was #2). Last year, I had been planning to go there the week of the tournament for my vacation but real life interfered with the plan.

Really? Great for Fabrice! I went to the Hall of Fame as well, on a visit to Newport last year, but didn't hear about the tournament until later on... the courts looked very unprofessional. But then, I can't say I ever looked at professional grass courts in real life either, so...still, I can probably agree with you. I thought of going since it's close enough to me, but the scheduling didn't work. I wanted to go to Pilot Pen this year as well but with the Olympics, even the players like Koyla who might have went won't be there, and again its not worth the scheduling. (I have to say, sorry Mardy, you know a tournament is in trouble when Fish is the first seed.)
Still, both trips last year were worth it because I got my racket from the shop attached tot eh Hall of Fame and I saw Kutzy for the first time at Pilot Pen.
BTW: Any chance you know how many GS Michael Chang won? Mostly I'm wondering fif Marat of Lleyton will have a chance ( ... )

Based on recent inductees, Lleyton is a shoo-in and Marat should get in as well. Lleyton was #1 for over a year, 2 GS titles, 2 finalists. Marat briefly #1 several times, 2 GS titles, 2 finals. Patrick Rafter got in with exactly the same criteria as Marat.
As for Chang, got to #2, 1 GS title at 17, 3 finals and *shrug* apparently a strong Asian block when deciding, as his influence elevated the game in Asian countries. Using that it gives hope to players like Goran or Roddick scary as that sounds.

Yes! I mean, Come onnn! XD I hope Lleyton does get in, and Marat as well.
Doesn't Chang hold the age record for youngest person to ever win a GS title in the Open Era or something??
I am torn between the idea of Roddick getting in (WTF man!?) and Juanqui getting in (most likely not possible unless he decides to get healthy and make another final or two...or win a title. Any title.) -_-
Asian countries- especially China- really only need one example of success in a sport to launch said sport forward. Even just ethnic Chinese- take figure skating and Michelle Kwan. Out of the top American girls today, there are at least two or three Asian/Chinese- this being the generation that grew up with Kwan as a role model. So in that sense it's very possible Chang was a important figure in spreading tennis.
