I dont think I've updated this in almost a month. Anyway, I am having a lovely time in Agua Prieta, Mexico.I am already considering coming here again next summer for the same amount of time. I have had many people here say that if I chose to do so, I'd have a place to stay, so thats great.
I have been teaching English lessons a lot. I love when I teach at the fairtrade coffee buisness because they roast the green coffee beans there. It always smells ridiculously wonderful there. I also teach someone from my church. I teach him grammar and he teaches me the basics of Spanish, which is nice. I will probably be teaching a class of 6-12 year olds 5 days a week starting on Monday.
I also volunteer at an immigration center that just opened on Friday. It gives migrants a place to go, food, water, and any medical supplies that they may need. It's a really neat thing to have here because the border patrol catches immigrants everyday who have nothing and nowhere to go.
A church in Az asked me if I would be there youth group leader for the time that I am here, so I am also doing that. The kids are really fun and I enjoy it a lot.
One of my friends here in the church invited me two days ago to go on vacation with him, another friend, and the pastor and his family. I wasnt sure about it, but they really wanted me to come, so I said yes, and now I am really excited. We are buying my plane ticket today, and leaving in 10 days! I will be gone for two weeks in Villahermosa and Mexico City. This is a map of where I am going
I live currently along the border of Az so you can see how far it is. I am excited to see the differences in the culture from where I live now and further south in Mexico, and I am also excited to go to the beaches along the Gulf of Mexico. The family and two friends that I am going with are some of my favorite people here in this community, and so thats another good thing. The friends are Mariano and Adrian who are both in their mid twenties, speak wonderful English, and make me laught a lot.
Okay, there is so much more. I love it here, and I know I will miss it more than anything when I come home. You will have to put up with me telling more Mexico stories when I come home. Which, by the way, I will be home in 5 weeks from today. So, 10 days here, two weeks on vacation, 1 1/2 more weeks here.
Well thats all. Take care. XOXO.
