Celebrated my 20th birthday last Friday at Disney World. This was a new experience for me as I haven't been to Disney in a while and never on my birthday.
Raspberryroo,
sophiecabra, and
zelldragon joined me to celebrate as my sister was able to sign us in. Part of going to Disney on your birthday is they give you a pin stating this. Every cast member you pass shouts happy birthday which was weird at first but it was nice. :)
My present from Spain and Ras included pins to trade with which was a fun addition to see what we could find on cast members in the park. Ended up going to Animal Kingdom for a while before hitting EPCOT. Was fun to "drink around the world", sampling the different beers in the countries. Something that came as an unexpected treat was finding that Norway had Carlsburgh on tap which happens to be one of if not my favorite beer. Another cool thing was Ras had these fast passes that were good for any ride in the park which allowed us to lolskip the lines at Test Track, Soarin', and The Maelstrom. We walked around some more looking in the different shops. Left a bit before the fireworks and passed out as soon as I got to their place.
The next day I was up early again as I was to meet my family at Animal Kingdom again. This time, we were going to see my sister do the safari tour. She has worked a few places around Disney starting with The Great Movie Ride at MGM as a tour guide, the gangster, and the bandit. Now I would see her driving a 35' truck off road while giving a whole speech. It was really neat to see her do it and the safari turned out to be one of the best I've ever been on. My sister has a perfect Disney voice / attitude which just keeps you interested and excited.
After we had lunch, I ended up breaking off and decided to visit MGM and EPCOT again before heading home. One negative thing about this week has been the issues that came up with the Jeep. I've been hearing a rattling noise for a few weeks now and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Finally, it was discovered to be my transfercase making the noise the cause being it was leaking fluid. After topping it off the noise went away but the next morning it had leaked out again. On my way home from work on Thursday I went to add fluid again but this time it was pouring out. I found a 1/2" size hole in the bottom of it. To temporarily mend it until I could have it replaced, I stuck JB weld into it and hoped it would hold. Unfortunately my mechanic is having trouble finding a used transfer case so im not sure when its going to be fixed. In the meantime, I've been aggressively looking at VW Golfs. I've been wanting to find a diesel one to replace the Jeep as my daily driver. The main idea is buy Golf, keep Jeep as tow/haul vehicle. My search has been futile thus far as many people refuse to get rid of them. I thought I had found a nice one and drove out to Gainesville to look at it but it turned out to be a wrecked mess of broken interior pieces and dents.
Looking forward to Elliots next weekend and the upcoming Pokemon tournament!
