I've been in Darlington, SC for the last week supporting the Sprint Cup race. It's pretty much the same as how it was last year with the fun support tasks I get assigned.
One thing that I had the misfortune of having to do was climb up a 15' pole with a 6' ladder to replace one of our outdoor wireless aps. Lets just say it was a challenge to hang on, hold the new box up and screw it in.
The week has been slow thus far with very few issues so I cant really complain. The hotel they put us up in is nice and all of my meals are paid so it's pretty much just sit back, do your job and get paid. Not bad.
My only real complaint about this area is the lack of high speed internet. Going from having a nice 15mb connection to a 1.5mb pipe is really something. It's been driving me absolutely nuts as all online games are now choppy. Oh whell, that's what pokemans are for!
I'm looking forward to driving home and getting back into the swing of things. Instead of taking this coming monday off like I normally would, I'm taking Friday off instead for my Birthday. I'm planning on going to Disney with
sophiecabra and
raspberryroo so that day should be fun of acting like huge Disney dorks. :) Then the next weekend should be fun with Elliots here in Orlando.
June is starting to shape up like a busy one with my local motorcycle forum doing a private track day on the 20th and Anthrocon the following weekend. As mentioned in my last post, I'm going to attend Dragon*Con this year with
sophiecabra and the gang. Going to back off on fursuiting and go headfirst into cosplaying like a tool. Looking forward to it!
