Texas State fair announced their finalists for the Big Tex choice awards -- this year, fried beer and battered fried Frito Pie made the list.  I'd act surprised, but last year introduced deep fried butter and previous years saw delights like chicken-fried bacon, fried lattes, and fried Coke.
Yep, we really will fry just about anything.

Ah, Fried Coke -- even the name sounds dreadful to me.
I'm willing to accept most anything made with bacon though. Oscar recently made a bacon and maple brown ale that's pretty darn tasty.
