Here's the deal. My friend nursebadass is doing the Susan G. Komen 3-day walk. She's trying to reach her $2,300 goal. She's 39% of the way, and trying to make it to $1,000 by March -- and I want to help her get there (and yes, I've already donated -- $5, fyi, and let's just pause to think that most of us routinely pay way more than that for our LJ paid ( Read more... )

When I get to work in a couple of hours, I am definitely going to donate [I trust their firewalls better than my own and get paranoid about paying for things online] My mother had breast cancer and has been in remission for two years. I fully support anything like this.

* Thank you for letting me know about this. I just gave my donation. I hope she gets the amount she needs.

Oh wow, I just saw your donation. Thank you so much! This is definitely something very close to me as well and i'm so happy to hear that your mother is okay.

I'm gonna need prompts, fandom, pairing -- the usual -- at your leisure of course.

Grey's, Mark/Lexie, and PLEASE, something happy lol I don't have a specific prompt but maybe adjusting to living together after she moves in? Really, whatever you feel like writing. I love everything you write.

I donated $10.00 -- I'm on the honor roll thingie. You can thank Sara who is paying for my lunch today. Haha. (There's no such thing as a free lunch.)

I want one thing. Guess. Do you need prompts?

I donated $5 dollars :) I checked the thing to not have my name displayed publicly, so I can link you to my receipt page if you want.

Your name is on honor roll, actually, just not the amount -- which doesn't really matter anyways because I'm playing by the honor system.

So.

What'll you have?

Ack, I feel bad I didn't donate as much as some others have. I'll give you a prompt but write other people's first lol or if you don't get to this one it's cool. Trust me.

nursebadass rocks with this dedication to a good cause! And so do you for supporting her your way. I donated $10 and I'd love a ... surprise, surprise *g*: Grey's ficlet, of course. One, in which Meredith knocks some sense into Alex about the whole Lexie thing :-)

Clarification question: this is taking the anti side of Alex/Lexie, yes?

liljan98 March 12 2010, 08:01:52 UTC
Yes, it does. I don't ship Alex/Lexie, not because I totally hate them together (because I don't), but because I think a relationship wouldn't work. The "just sex" thing won't help any of them either to get over/deal with their pasts relationships.
And I think Meredith agrees with me :-) and as a good big sister to Lexie and good friend to Alex she would want to put an end to that.

I'm broke but when I get paid on Friday, remind me and I'll make a donation. I don't want anything return, just a reminder.

I'll remind you for sure but are you sure you don't want anything? It's no trouble at all.

I should have already donated. My grandmother died a little over 2 months ago and she was a breast cancer survivor. My family's request was to donate to a few foundations, including that one, so it's really just an encouragement to do something I should have already done.

If you feel like you must do something, check out ga_ficfest.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother, but that's such a great thing to do in her honor.

I shall check that place out. I saw it when I went through the affiliates yesterday but haven't had the chance to really look.
