pass the word

I'm sure those of you who were on my flist last year are semi-familiar with this, but please if you have a spare second read this:

My friend Stacie (truelovepooh) was diagnosed with both stage 2 ovarian and breast cancer on March 26, 2007. Because she was diagnosed while she was still in the 90 day probationary period at her new job, and her husband is an independent truck driver, she ended up completely without health insurance, like so many other Americans in this day and age. Now the hospital is turning her down for treatment because she can't afford it.

Some of her friends have come together to create a fundraiser to help raise money. It's called Fanfic On Demand. It reminds me a lot of Sweet Charity. Authors in all fandoms are invited to sign up to write a fic (the word counts can vary from 2,500 to 20,000+), specifying what fandoms they will write in and what they won't write, and then they are bid on. The highest bidder gets to deliever a fic challenge to the author they have 'won'. The author is then given 30 days after payment is recieved to complete the fic.

I have a LOT of excellent writers on my flist and seeing as this is for all fandoms, I'm trying to get a few people at the very least interested in this.

So if you are at all interested in signing up, I've made the form available for download here. If you decide to do this please send the form to supportstacie@gmail.com.

Also I would be eternally grateful if you pimp this in your own journals or anywhere you can. This is a cause that is really important to me, as I would pretty much do anything for this woman.

Thank you for your time, if you managed to read all the way through this.
