Summary: Post 4.07 - Ji Yeon. My initial theory on the episode, before they were later disproved.
* this is my original theory of what was happening during Wednesday's episode. Since re-viewing the gravestone and the circumstances it has been disproved. However I initially refused to believe what we saw were flashbacks. Hence the following story, based completely in theory:

They shouldn’t have come back here.
Pleas fall on deaf ears, and “he’ll find us anyway”, and he never does understand this turn of events.

There’s the cover-up and the aftermath and he gets to watch both.
Faceless body, one that comes with ID, and “I’m sorry for your loss”. He watches her sink to the floor, and tears spill like the blood that painted the floor of the warehouse. He doesn’t know whose body it was, whose family will bury an empty casket. He doesn’t ask.
The funeral is small, and he can’t watch more than two minutes of it from behind dark sunglasses, before he puts the car in gear and drives off.

They run the inherent risk that someday he and Sun will run into each other. That this lie will be exposed.
Her father shakes his head, tells him that is not his concern, that people see things in crowds all the time if they’re looking for it.
Jin Soo-Kwon no longer exists and that is that.

He marries again. New identity, new life. It’s not his idea; he’s merely a tool of Mr. Paik’s.
Business as usual and nothing more.

A nurse mentions children the day he presents the ambassador with that stuffed panda, and his heart tightens even as he forces the corner of his lips into a smile, as he lets her know he’s only been married two months.
His thoughts travel to Sun. He wonders if it’s a boy or a girl. He wonders what she’ll name the child.
He wonders if she’ll think of him.

“Ji Yeon,” Mr. Paik tells him. The only thing he tells him.
Jin can’t help but smile to himself.
