Vacation Day 2
Okay so today is actually day 3, but I sort of fell asleep before I got a chance to recap. Sorry!
Yesterday was another fun day! We got up, and it was very nice to just take our time getting ready, no rushing around trying to get out the door; you know, how we normally spend our mornings. We had breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant…probably not going to do that again. I think there’s an IHOP nearby. Anyway, we headed to the Zoo! It was great! We saw the baby zebra, and a baby monkey and the peacocks followed us around for a while. We also rode the train and the carousel and had snow cones. It was a good time! We had gotten there pretty early (like as they were opening), so by lunch time we were beat! Although it wasn’t as hot as it was the day before, I think we were both pretty wiped out! So I called my friend Cathy who works nearby, saw her new office and went to lunch with her! It was great to see her! I haven’t seen her in a while now, maybe a year! So we caught up and had pizza, made plans for a BBQ and just generally had a nice visit! After we left there, Nyla and I agreed it was time to try out the hotel’s pool. We swam pretty much the rest of the afternoon, as NO ONE else was there! It was great to have the whole pool to ourselves! Once it started to cloud over in the late afternoon, we decided it was time for dinner. We headed over to some fish restaurant that I can’t remember the name of now, but it’s owned by the same people the own Bass Pro Shop and they share a building, so after dinner we wandered around there and got “souvenirs” for Grandpa Marv! Honestly, by the end of the day we were so exhausted that we when we went back to the hotel, Nyla fell asleep watching cartoons and I fell asleep reading. It was a fantastic day!
Today is our last full day in the big City, so let’s hope it’s a great one!
