Since I haven’t taken a vacation in a really long time, I thought it would be fun to post a little recap of the days we are out.
Well, gosh who knew vacationing would be so tiring? So today the weatherman said that we reached nearly record highs today…so of course today was the day we spent outside…all day! First thing (after we dropped dad off to pick up his car from the mechanic and got out of town) we went to the Butterfly Pavilion. I went a liiiitle camera happy. I forgot my cable to connect the camera to the computer, so I will post pictures when I get home. Expect to see a lot of butterflies, and flowers because our next stop was the Botanic Gardens. Wow! I haven’t been there since high school! It’s grown a lot. Either that or I don’t remember it. Either way it was impressive. And hot. Very very hot. So after we survived the heat we headed to the hotel. Got all checked in (after I definitely did NOT get lost…just a little turned around) and sat for about an hour! We were TIRED! But after we cooled down in the lovely air conditioned room, we got restless so we headed to the shopping complex place…thing where our big event for the evening was being held: Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D! We were about an hour early so we wondered a bit and then made our way to the theater. The movie was VERY impressive! 3-D movies have come a loooong way from when I was a kid! And I still think Brendan Fraser is hot. I really liked that it wasn’t just another adaptation of the book; it was a different kind of story. After the movie we dragged ourselves to eat some dinner, and now we are back in our lovely air conditioned hotel room. Did I mention the air conditioning? It’s very nice! Who knows what tomorrow’s adventure will bring, but hanging with my kid, just having a good time is turning out to be the greatest vacation ever!
