Picture post ho!

This is way back from a wedding in July, but it’s really important to me that we all take a moment to appreciate my suspenders and ribbon-bow shirt. And tragically you can’t see from the photo, but I was also wearing a tasteful yet fashionably short skirt and PATENT LEATHER HIGH HEELS. Me! Actual heels that are high and irrigated the church lawn as I traversed it. And how many times do you think I stumbled and embarrassed myself? (Hint: it’s the same number of times Tyler Hansbrough lost in Cameron Indoor Stadium.)

Lex and I hit a year in early October… meaning that by now, this is officially my longest relationship to date. My thoughts on this are for a later, less photo-oriented post I think. What you really need to know is that for our anniversary, I made haddock fish on a bed of noodles and onions…

With apple muffins and from-scratch-frosting for dessert!

I flew home in late October, and went to the State Fair with Matt. We obtained a giant turkey leg that between the two of us... still was not fully consumed. We also got fried dough and cupcakes and visited the many matronly exhibits I desired, including the water gardens you can just barely see in the photo.

Jocelyn, my former roommate, got married in October - err’body gettin’ murrrd. Although she’s been in Connecticut for a few months now, she was planning most of her wedding while we roomed together for our second of two years. And because her family lives in Bakersfield, CA, Jocelyn was left making a lot of decisions on her own that one would normally do with one’s mother. So I was privy to a LOT of the planning process, and even had the fun of helping here and there. I loved going to the wedding and seeing how it all came together. The actual ceremony was outdoors, at a farm estate in southern Connecticut. In late October. Absolutely beautiful. As is she, I needn’t add. It was wonderful to see a friend so sweet and bright, on a day like that when everything went so well. More wedding photos here.

Moving into December - Lex and I have the obligatory tiny-apartment sad-tree, but we made the most of it between my keen wrapping abilities and holiday aesthetic tastes, and his good-natured submission in all things decoration.

This picture was taken just today. I’m back in Apex for Christmas. Rachel and I had a laugh over how unrelated she looks to Vann and me. She could be an accidental photobomber.

That’s it for now! Later days.
