Perspective

Got home middle of the evening last night and had to head on back out to Urgent Care [Group Health's almost-an-emergency-room]. Saw the same PA that I saw a few months back for bronchitis and I again found him both personable and competent. Last night was for a 'roid the size of Nebraska. [Well, literally about the size of my thumb, but nerve endings per square inch resembles Nebraska]. He found that my ...like trying to shit a pine cone... adequately answered his "how bad is the pain?"

He made referral to surgery, and this morning I met a very nice and competent surgeon who blew away the stereotype that surgeons have no people skills. And, thank all the gods and goddesses, when she looked at my rosebud she found that the roid had reduced itself, requiring no scalpel. Stiz baths are now my friend.

All of which brings me to this afternoon's realization that the old jokey phrase of "ripped him a new asshole" has an entirely new sense of meaning when you have the sensation that you may have done just that.
