I see red, I see red, I see red
My poor little ipod -- the old, 40GB (remember when they came in a 40GB size?), with no photos or even colors -- is dying. First it would freeze occasionally, then more than occasionally. Sometimes it would reset just fine, other times it would give me the Sad iPod icon. Lately it wouldn't even revive when I plugged it into the computer. The final straw was when it gave me an error message that it couldn't write to the disc when I tried to put songs back on it...meh.
So, since that's kaput, I guess I need a new one. I decided on the shiny red nano for two reasons: I don't think 2GB or 4GB is nearly enough for anything but taking to the gym (and I have an original shuffle for that) and I don't like the black one (which is the only other 8GB option); and I feel like if I get the full-sized one, whenever they come out with a new model that'll be obsolete, whereas I can still use the nano as a tinyportable option.
So, with that decision made (it should be noted that I hate making decisions), I need to figure out what to put on the back with free laser engraving. I want something fitting, though -- so I'm thinking something about music or something about the color (red, if you were skimming above). Since, as you may know, I hate making decisions, tell me what you think about the below:
-Music will provide the light you cannot resist. (REM)
-Slurring thoughts until they bled / because I love the taste of red. (Butch Walker)
-If you want to sing out, sing out / If you want to be free, be free. (Cat Stevens/Maude -- it was on last night but I forgot to watch it)
-Dance round the room to accordion keys / With the needle that sings in your heart (Neutral Milk Hotel)
-Creating a radio played just for two / In the parlor with a moon across her face (NMH)
-And pluck all your silly strings / And bend all your notes for me / Soft silly music is meaningful, magical / The movements were beautiful (NMH -- some part of that, anyway)
So what do you think?
