Every year at this time, I'm reminded of how much I have to be thankful for. I love my family with all my heart, I had such a good Thanksgiving with them yesterday. They came up to my apartment and we relaxed with a little food and watched a movie, then they left for their hotel to get ready for dinner. I met them there and we drove out to Grand Traverse Resort together.
Oh my gosh, I think
Aerie is the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been in. The colors, the atmosphere, the VIEW from the 16th floor of the resort. It was unbelievable. The food was delicious, it was elegant but still just like eating a good old fashioned Thanksgiving dinner at home. I officially want my wedding reception at the resort. haha. Gorgeous.
After dinner we of course made a stop at the casino for awhile. I actually got carded. ha ha. I didn't win anything, as usual, but my dad did! =) Then we drove downtown to see the Christmas lights, and eventually back to my place and watched a movie. It was so perfect.
This morning my parents got up early with me and took me out to breakfast before I had to be at work at nine. I'm so glad I got to spend that time with them, I was worried I'd miss them before they left since I had to work so early. I'm mad I didn't get to spend more time with them, but I'll be home next weekend when I take Abby back to their house. We already have a Greektown night planned, and I'm spending Saturday with my grandparents making cookies. <333
Abby's being a little holy terror already. I forgot what it's like to have her around 24-7 by myself! haha. We took a 5 mile walk this afternoon and she still wasn't tired. Me, on the other hand, I'm about to fall over having gotten up at 5am, worked, then took that 5 mile walk. haha. I love having her here though, of course.
I'm buying myself a heated blanket for Christmas. Or maybe this weekend.
I hope every one of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families. ♥
