So . . . the semester-long management class project has seen 1 of our 3 group members kind of disappear off the face of the earth in the last two weeks without giving up the rough draft of her portion.
I am prepared to fill in with something and basically take on the whole yoke, because the other remaining gal is simply working up her section to college level. Sheez. At least she's excited about the suggestions I made as to how she can do that.
But the upshot is, we have until next Tuesday to pull this project together. So far we have my 5 pages, 3 pages from the other gal, and nothing from the third. We need 15 pages.
And yes, we still need the 15, even though one of our members has disappeared at such a late date. It's a management class. This is part and parcel of management in the real world: shit happens.
The topic of the project is Conflict. We were each working on a subsection related to the topic. MIA girl was doing conflict between managers and workers, other girl is doing communication skills, I'm doing the thing when it all breaks down: workplace violence. It's far too late for me to assemble a proper research thing to fill-in the missing part.
So I was thinking as I was pondering the issue, if what the instructor wants to see is what I've learned from the experience, how about writing a case study of how I've managed/not-managed the conflict within the project group? I've got 1.5 pages already, pulling in information from the class about management styles and group dynamics, as well as my honest self-assessment.
What do folks think about this idea? Can this salvage the A, and my GPA?
