When I was little, I remember my mother saying that Australian actors used to show up in show after show. She used to watch The Sullivans and so when I began watching Neighbours she recognised some faces. For example, Mrs Mangel in Neighbours was Mrs Jessop in The Sullivans.
So, here I am watching Da Vinci's Inquest. I began watching it to catch the seasons with Colin C. But I'm now watching episodes regardless. And who should show up in the episode I'm currently watching? Teryl Rothery! In another episode, we thought the Mayor looked familiar. Then we realised it was Bill Dow minus glasses and not being an annoying geek! Peter Williams has been in this show as well. The partner in crime of Colin's bad guy is Kandyse McClure, recently seen in BSG and Sanctuary. A young looking Jewel Staite played Da Vinci's daughter.
Seen Cold Squad? If you have, chances are you'll have seen at least one Stargate franchise actor in it. But you might also recognise one of the main guys in it, even if you don't actually physically recognise him. He's got a little more hair and he's not wearing an eye-patch, but the accent is a dead giveaway. Yep, it's Michael Hogan, aka one Saul Tighe.
I'm now watching another episode of Da Vinci. Guest appearances are by Peter Williams, Eric Breker and Gerald Plunkett, the woman who played Ancient Morgan Le Fay, and Selmak's original host, Saroosh.
Yep, mother was right. Those actors just keep going around and around and around and around...
Meanwhile, I like having the Sleuth channel on my cable line-up :)
