The land where there be sun all night long.
Or so I'm told. It's not exactly the case 'round here, though it is very light at night. Won't get dark again for another two weeks, I think.
'S pretty cool.
And yaaaay, It's summertime and the living is easy and all that jazz, although this keyboard is driving me slightly mad, being not as co-operative s I should've wished it to be.
Meh. If it wasn't for the fact that I don't really enjoy working at a laptop, now is the time I would've wished that my own, beloved computer was one. Oh, well...
Having just read
Alice in Wonderland and realized it's actually two stories, of which one (
Through the Looking Glass) is also a chess-problem (which I would be happy trying to solve, were I a decent chess player), I'm, naturally, going to have to read the original english text as well. And, would you look at that, just the text I wanted pops up at the web. Have I mentioned just how much I love the Internet? Seriously?
This version is the one which contains a commentary (by Marc Edmund Jones) to explain the details and symbolics in the story, so that an non-british (or, as it seems, a non scholar) reader can catch up on the finer shades.
It's all here:
Alice in Wonderland.
Hm. I wonder whether there might be a commentary to
Gulliver's Travels as well? Hum-di-dum...
