ZOMG "Turn Left" was just... brilliant!
This is not suppoused to be a spoiler-post, ye can safely read on. I think. Well, unless ye don't know who Donna is, but I figure most people on my f-list does. Here goes:
I always liked Rose. I thought Martha was pretty OK. But I absolutely cannot get enough of Donna and her attitude. She's wonderfully hysterical, and truly seems to believe that things and people will behave if she just yells at them for long enough. She's stubborn and... normal, for lack of better word. She's the one companion I find it easiest to identify with, partly because she reminds me of me, but also because she has the most "normal" reaction to all the odd things she gets to see. In situations or encounters where Rose would go "That's cool", Martha would think "How can I help", Donna is the one to say what we all think; "WTF is that thing!?"
As such, I consider her the most... I don't want to use the term believable, but perhaps the most functional companion, since the companion is the person we as an audience are suppoused to identify with; it's through their eyes we get to know The Doctor, it's their questions and impressions that explains strange new encounters and worlds. In Torchwood, it's the newbie Gwen who fills this function. I think there's a dramaturgic term for this kind of character, but I forgot. Anywayz... Donna rocks. So much. But all the same, I'm looking forward to next episode, as always.
On a side note: am I the only one who's beginning to believe that the Whovian bees are, from a narrative perspective, somewhat related to Douglas Adam's dolphins?
