Okay, this needs to be settled because right now it's me and Michelle vs. Jesse.
Who thinks that Dan Miller should replace Andy Duncan?*
Things to consider:
*Is it a promotion or a demotion?
*Average cuteness/hotness of both bands
*General surliness of Andy
*Toothpick vs. knit hat
*Fingertips vs. C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips
*If you know who both

In conclusion, Chris Temple should replace Andy.

Plus, he's cute enough to be in OK Go :P. And that's a hard club to break into.

I don't necessarily think DM has to leave TMBG as part of this deal. Especially because it's hypothetical and not ever going to happen. But anyway, it's not like TMBG are being super-prolific and toursome right now (actually neither are okgo, but bear with me), so DM could totally do double duty and not break up the Band of Dans.
Also, the number of TMBG-likers (intentionally not saying "fans") who know the difference between the Dans is probably similar to the number of OK Go fans in the world. Who would immediately know DM and would probably start screaming his name all the time with very little coaxing.
Go, Dan Miller! Your fortune awaits!

I like the idea of him doing double duty, though. He can be the Ben Gibbard of the dorky set. Except that Ben Gibbard is already of the dorky set, but you know what I mean (different dorks).

I would *consider* a sharing situation, but I don't think it's realistic as Michelle implies. True that TMBG are not doing an heavy-duty touring/recording right now (although they are putting out another children's project), and the Dans are probably only really needed for rock recording/touring. But OK Go, as a younger band, is subject to a more grueling schedule. Once they start touring and the album comes out (presumably in mid-05), they'd be doing promo and tour stuff for the better part of a year. So yeah, TMBG isn't doing that right now, but they probably will be between now and February 2006.
So maybe he could do freelance Danning for OK Go on tour or in the studio, but being in two bands at once is probably v. taxing.
