Things That I Do That Are Different Because Jesse Is Away

Take the G or take the bus from the L. Walking home from the L by myself is too boring. Plus, strange people think they can talk to me when I'm alone. No, I don't want to attend your naked theater project, but I'll take your postcard if it makes you happy.

Turn up the volume on the TV/other things that make noise at night. The purpose of this is twofold. It makes me feel less lonely, and it covers up all of the background noise that I would otherwise assume were people coming in to burglarize me. (Go away, robbers! We have no food in the house!) Other people say that when their loved ones are away, they hog the bed/sheets/pillows/etc, but I apparently do that when Jesse is here, so that's not different.

Make my own breakfast like a schnook.

Update Twitter/Facebook more frequently so I don't feel like I'm just talking to myself.

Talk to myself.

Pay for my own dinner and movie tickets. It's a good thing that both were well worth it. (Mmm, Ethiopian food.)

Sing in the shower. But quietly, hopefully, because I'm still afraid that people can hear. That's one advantage of the suburbs: The only people who can hear me sing in the shower there are my mom and sister, and they're required to love me anyway.

Tap my fingers on the steering wheel when I get nervous while driving.

Cook way too much pasta.

Eat way too much pasta.

Play Nintendo. Nathaniel and I beat SUPER Bubble Bobble, although I wasn't much help defeating the last guy. I think my skills were just rusty because I was too busy basking in the joy of putting my enemies into bubbles, turning them into food, and running around with shoe-speed to pay real attention to what was going on.

Watch two of my friends get engaged in a spectacular manner! I'll give them a chance to tell people before I blab about it all over the Internet, but believe me you'll be hearing more about this. Well done, guys. I'm so excited and happy for you both!

good news everyone, wes peeps
