What's come over me?

I usually go to the movies. Movies are great and air-conditioned. This was one of the hottest weekends of the year. So what did I do? Go shopping instead.

I think I need a million dollars. As Jesse said, Sara took us to her friend's store in Greenpoint. It was super cute, but also super-expensive. I promise to return if I hit mega-millions. We also went a few other stores on Franklin Street (pretty much all of the ones listed except the bookstore and beauty boutique). I saw summer dresses and sandals that I really wanted to buy, but I restrained myself.

I did, however, get a bathing suit. I actually didn't have one, and I haven't had one for a few years. Can you believe that? I just kind of avoid swimming. (It's not really my favorite thing to do.) But today I bit the bullet, and got a yellow-polka-dot suit, but it's a one-piece and not so itty-bitty. I still like it.

So I spent money on that. And this month, there are a couple of birthdays and present-buying holidays that I'm going to have to shell out for. Yet I still feel the urge to get summer dresses and cute tops. This urge to shop almost never comes over me. It must be the heat.

I did end up spending money on a movie this weekend (The Promotion, just okay) and a comedy show (Yes Andersons and Yum Yum Bangkok). That's much more like me.
