I have been...He suits the profile given to me by Dresden and the M struck me as highly unusual. Theories, however, are not grounds enough for arrest.

You don't need to tell me that; I know.

Has he called himself any names? You've been here longer.

No. Also mysterious. He has been here a while now but his name's never been shared with the Network.

How many people show up here without names?

Names are important. They give you an identity, a history, a profile, and they link you to your appearance and any crimes you might have committed.

Precisely. It could be this young man possesses no true identity...It would add up...

Dresden said the Box Murderer could alter form at will. A being with such patterns may not possess an identity it feels it could call its own...So it seeks "essence" as it told Dresden in that note...

Remember motive. The Box Murders felt more experimental to me. Murder being merely the means.

Any way to draw him out? He doesn't seem to want anything. Just a random killer.

If what he seeks is essence, it is not something we could pretend to provide.

The one thing the victims of the last set of murders had in common was that.....They had nothing in common. Like he made a conscious effort to select people from entirely different walks of life.

With this, we cannot even make an educated guess as to where he may strike next.

Unless...

What makes a tempting target?

Our best shot is Dresden.

The murderer seems to have a special interest in him.

Harry's a good man. I don't want to risk him getting hurt if there's no point to it.

But you're right. That's the only thing to go on, for now.

Harry can manage for himself.

Ah...I sent you the dual-boot partition editor with the wards. Did you get it? There should be some instructions on how to install it...

Got it this morning, nearly done now. Bloody thing was a trick to figure out, but everything in the pamphlet was marked and in bright colors so I tried using one of the neutral police communicators on it and the second half doesn't show up, so I'm taking that as a good sign.

Thanks.
